AM General Corp., once a part of now-defunct American Motors, traces its roots back to the original Army Jeep of World War II. In the early ’80s, the company designed the Humvee — that’s short for “high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle or HMMWV” — and won the contract to make the vehicles for the U.S. Military. There are about 155,000 of them in use worldwide and were stars of Operation Desert Storm. The Hummer H1 is well known for its military-grade capabilities and stellar off-road performance, making it a favorite among collectors and enthusiasts.

The ultimate, go-anywhere 4x4, whether it's to knee-deep in mud or driving to the mall, this 4-door Hummer H1 Wagon is powered by an UPGRADED 6.6L Duramax® V8 Turbo-Diesel that generates a robust 310 bhp (231 kW) at 3000 rpm and a stump-pulling 520 lb⋅ft (705 N⋅m) at 1600 rpm mated to an Allison® 1000 5-speed transmission. The Hummer H1 has a strong steel-box frame with five heavy-duty cross members for rugged support, and the bonded and riveted aluminum-alloy body is built more like an aircraft fuselage than a truck. It can carry up to 4,000 pounds of people and cargo, and the four-wheel independent suspension is outstanding for off-road use, allowing each wheel to find its own spot on very uneven terrain. On the road, the ride is at least as good or better than most full-size pickups.

This well-cared-for Hummer H1 Wagon is finished in stealthy Black with color-matched wheels and trim. The high-back, heated Black Leather sport seats with contrasting White Diamond stitching provide a commanding view of the road and driver-focused command center, where you’ll find all-new AutoMeter® gauges and an upgraded sound system featuring an Atoto® S8 Android-based 7” HD touch-screen head unit with wireless CarPlay® and Android Auto® with rich-sounding Rockford Fosgate® speakers and subwoofer powered by a Kenwood® eXcelon® 5-channel, 1600 watt amplifier.

Other features include full-time, 2-speed 4-wheel drive, traction control, NEW 37” x 12.50” BFGoodrich® Baja T/A RUN FLAT tires on beadlocked 16.5" x 8.25" 24-bolt HMMWV steel wheels, geared hubs, inboard-mounted 4-wheel ABS disc brakes, multiple heavy-duty cooling systems, front and rear air conditioning, power locks and windows, a full-length roof rack, Warn® winch, skid plates and rocker panel protection, auxiliary fuel tank, tow and helicopter lift hooks, 16" of ground clearance — double that of the average sport-utility vehicle —  and a sealed venting system that allows travel in up to 30" of water. It has a remarkable approach angle of up to 72 degrees and a departure angle of 37½  degrees, great for dropping down a steep hill into a flat creek, then climbing out the other side.

As an important note, the odometer was replaced by Hummer on July 22, 2002 at 32,017 miles, as recorded on the certified decal in the driver’s door jamb. Since then, it only clocked an additional 4,637 miles and we replaced the speedometer on December 16, 2022. As a result, the vehicle now shows just over 100 miles on the odometer.
